西荻窪ではネパール出身の住民が多くて、ネパール/インド料理の人気の地域として知られています。数十件のカレーのお店があり、その大半がネパール出身の方によって営業されています。西荻窪をはじめとして、日本に住んでいるネパールの方が主にバグルンという地域の出身で、現在日本では移住してきた外国人の方の人口の中で最も増加している人口の一つになります。先月は西荻窪のガネーシャガールというお店のコックであるヘムさんにダルバートの作り方を教えていただきました。今回は西荻窪に住んでいるカップル、キーマさんとプラカシュさんにネパールのスナックとスイーツの骨を教わることになります。<br />

Nishiogikubo is home to many people originating from Nepal and has become a hot bed for Indian/Nepalese cuisine, with dozens of curry houses run by Nepalese expats. The vast majority of Nepalese residents hail from the area of Baglung, a plateau in central Nepal. People hailing from Nepal are one of the fastest growing populations in Japan, with great popularity of Japanese language study and employment opportunities. Last month Hem, the chief cook at Ganesha Ghar restaurant, taught us how to make Dal Bhat. This time our friends Kheema and Prakash will share their culinary skills for making Nepalese snacks and sweets.END:VEVENT
